LG introduces its newest Android Gingerbread-powered smartphone. The LG Optimus EX features an NVIDIA 1.2GHz Tegra 2 processor, which enables the device to play video clips of up to 1080p resolution. Earlier models could only play videos up to 720p. The device also has a four-inch LCD with 480 x 800 resolution and 700 nits of brightness, Android 2.3, 16GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, 5-megapixel camera, and a front-facing VGA camera.The smartphone is now officially available in South Korea, with SK Telecom as its carrier. It comes in either black and silver or white and gold color schemes. Price of the LG Optimus EX, as well as details about international release, remain unclear.

Samsung, despite its legal battles in every corner of the world, remains steadfast in releasing its products like the newly-available Galaxy Tab 8.9. The new Samsung tablet is available for pre-order in the United States, with shipments expected to begin October 2, as long as no U.S. authority would ban Samsung from doing so.
The Nokia N9 has begun shipping after months of rumors and pre-orders. The first–and last–Meego-powered handset from Nokia is available in anywhere except in United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. For everyone else, the 16GB model is priced at 480 euros (about $650), while the 64GB version comes just as expensive at 560 euros (about $757). Amazon is about to hold a press conference tomorrow (September 28). Apart from the location and time, nothing else was revealed in the invitations, but the tech community speculates that it could be the unveiling of Amazon’s new Kindle tablet, which they say would be named “Kindle Fire.”

Japanese mobile carrier KDDI unveils three new handsets in its stable, all of which are Android-powered, waterproof, have WiMAX connectivity support, and possess an 8-megapixel camera. The Kyocera Digno is a slim smartphone line that comes in three different colors, while the Sharp AQUOS IS13SH features an ASV display, and the NEC Medias BR IS11 will come in pink, white, and blue color options. The announcement comes after KDDI introduces to its lineup the Fujitsu-Toshiba Arrows Z, HTC Evo 3D, and Motorola Photon.
